Messing About in Boats

River Wey Surrey

It’s been an adventurous week for me this week, a couple of days off and a fabulous birthday treat spent chilling out on a peaceful narrow boat on the River Wey. The tranquillity of the river might have been ever so slightly interrupted by my friend’s accordion but hopefully others enjoyed it as much as we did (scared off a few ducks though 😊).

I’d never been on a narrow boat before and the thing that struck me the most was just how friendly and helpful everyone was. Being a tad nervous about the whole lock thing, I realised I needn’t have worried as so many people were there to help and show us how to do everything. We felt like pros by the end of the day 😊 And we largely avoided the rain which was a bit of a bonus!

What’s a little shower when you have a good jacket?

Talking of which, as we are suffering from OSS (occasional shower syndrome), if you need a light mac to help keep you covered without being too hot, don’t miss out on one of our great shower proof jackets.

If, like me, you just need a bit of extra warmth when there’s a slight chill in the air, then we have a few light jackets/knits that might well do the job for you. I’ve particularly loved the Masai Leena waistcoat this season as it’s stunningly soft (seriously… divine!) and so useful when I’ve been a bit colder in the evenings.
